New YouTube Channel Tips
Starting a channel feels slow because nobody knows you yet. That is normal. Focus on building a strong base and improving with each video.
1. Choose a niche you can stay with
Pick a topic you enjoy and can make at least 30 videos about. Mixing unrelated topics makes it hard for YouTube and for viewers to understand what your channel is about.
2. Set up your channel properly
- Use a clear channel name and a simple profile picture.
- Write a short About section that says what you post and how often.
- Add a banner that matches your topic.
3. Start with search-friendly videos
New channels do not get much recommendation traffic. Videos that answer a specific question, like "how to fix..." or "how to make...", can still be found through search.
4. Improve every video a little
Your first videos will not be great, and that is fine. Improve one thing each time: sound quality, lighting, pacing or the thumbnail. Clear audio matters more than an expensive camera.
5. Be patient with numbers
Do not judge your channel after five videos. Many successful channels took months before one video took off. Keep a simple notebook of what you learn from each upload.
6. Avoid shortcuts
Buying subscribers, sub-for-sub exchanges and fake views do not build a real audience and can harm your channel. Only real viewers who enjoy your videos help you grow.
